I know what you are thinking: Yet another stupid glutamine product designed for macho posers and muscle lovers. I admit, I was in the same place myself and heavy-handed marketing didn’t help me either.
It is simple. I want more energy and less fatigue – enough fuel to suit my daily needs. So I turned to Transparent Labs BCAA Glutamine.
This supplement was recommended to me by a more experienced friend. You know, the one that is actually going to the gym regularly. After much thinking and swinging, I finally put aside all of my innate scepticism and decided to give it a go.
CoreSeries BCAA Glutamine is a repair and recovery supplement. Branched Chain Amino Acid, or BCAA Glutamine, has many benefits and effects. It proved to be good for the decrease in muscle fatigue, alleviating the pain post workout and – naturally – muscle building [1].
Transparent Labs CoreSeries BCAA Glutamine is here to stimulate protein synthesis and improve our glucose metabolism. It shoots up glucose uptake in the muscle tissue thus reducing both fatigue and exercise induced muscle damage. Or so they say.
My muscle tissues seem to me just fine, as before. But then again, the effort I’ve put was probably insufficient to visibly increase my mass. One thing did happen though, I can handle fitness exercises better and my overall performance is somewhat increased.
Transparent Labs claim that BCAA Glutamine will improve my immunity and accelerate fat loss through fasted training. As far as I am concerned, I do feel potent, healthy and in good form. If I try harder, maybe I will burn some extra fat, which would be nice to be frank.
So far I have no reasons to believe that BCAA Glutamine will not suffice when it comes to most if not all the promises it made to potential customers. It’s just that I am a normal guy you see at every corner of the gym, so what I personally may lack is the will to workout for that extra mile. Or maybe I’m just selling myself short.
For this review let’s check our usual suspects first. Transparent Labs BCAA Glutamine has no artificial dyes, unnecessary fillers or harmful additives. No artificial sweeteners as well. Being vegan, I try to be extra careful when it comes to the things I consume.
But, the fact that the Transparent Labs BCAA supplement is made from premium fermented vegan BCAAs gives me a piece of mind of some sort. Their ingredient label is 100% transparent – hence the name of the company.
It is made for both men and women, so you can share your purchase with your significant other. Also, it comes in various flavors: green apple, tropical punch, sour grape, orange and blue raspberry.
BCAA is considered to be essential for lymphocyte responsiveness, necessary to support other immune cell functions. The 2:1:1 ratio of BCAAs comes to 4 grams of L-Leucine, 2 grams of L-Isoleucine, and 2 grams of L-Valine.
This is another one of the more important branched chain amino acids, typically used in great amounts during hard workouts. When under physical stress, L-Glutamine takes care of essential processes in the body. Keeping levels of this amino acid high can be very beneficial if you plan to be very active.
Coconut water is practically a superfood with great health benefits. Let’s name a few: increased exercise performance, rehydration, anti-inflammatory, improves kidney function, supports your immune system and is good for eyes and skin. Coconut water powder quickly became a must in my recovery plan and I can tell it works very well combined with my lifestyle and exercise habits.
Coconut water powder also has some precious electrolytes my physician found helpful for me:
The other ingredients include ascorbic acid, citric acid and stevia. Nothing unusual here, food agents and stevia – a plant based sweetener so much better than any artificial choice.
PROS
CONS
None whatsoever. I’ve tried hard to notice any negative changes in my health and overall well being and found nothing. It seems there is no scientific research proving that BCAA supplementation has any serious side effects.
Sure, if you suffer from diabetes, ketoaciduria, low blood pressure, Parkinson’s or have an alcohol issue, you should avoid BCAA Glutamine and consult your physician. Otherwise, just follow the instructions and you should be fine.
“Love that it builds your immune system and keeps you from getting too sore while pushing harder.”
– KennyJigz
“Great recovery time and stamina, improves strength and endurance nicely over a relatively small period of time.”
– anne963
“No fillers and other dodgy stuff, works great with other supplements. Like the coconut water powder, too, as it’s full of necessary minerals my vegan diet tends to lack. Kudos!”
– adriaan79t
“Blue raspberry bitterness can be a bit hard to handle for my taste.”
– joNNy_stoKes
Can I take CoreSeries BCAA Glutamine if I am about to be subjected to drug testing for my sport?
Yes, of course. All Transparent Labs products contain zero illegal drugs of any kind. It is recommended to show this’ supplement facts panel to doctors and coaches, depending how rigorous your tests are.
How should I take BCAA Glutamine to maximize its benefits?
It is recommended that you take 1 scoop of BCAA Glutamine with 10-12 ounces of water, protein or juice before or during your workout. For improved recovery on non-training days, take BCAA Glutamine by Transparent labs in the morning.
Can I use it with other sports nutrition supplements?
Yes, you can. Not only will best mass gainers, test boosters, creatine for men or fat burners for women give you much greater benefits, they will also cover the taste that some might find unappealing.
Yes, I think Transparent Labs BCAA Glutamine is worth your money as long as you keep your ambitions realistic.
No matter how unbiased I try to be, I can say that this product made my exercises much more enjoyable. I feel fit and ready from the moment I open my eyes in the morning.
The things I was primarily gunning for were all associated with health benefits. Immune function, protein breakdown, protein metabolism, more stamina, better muscle recovery and some weight loss if possible – you name it. Apart from the weight thing, which I am to blame for honestly, this branched chain amino acid supplement has delivered in spades.
If building muscle mass and promoting muscle growth are part of your plan, then Transparent Labs BCAA Glutamine will do you justice, and then some. Personally, I may not be a straight-up bodybuilder, but I sure got my kick of energy and strength for everyday purposes and gym visits.
