Due to the popularity of Mr. Olympia's documentary on Arnold Schwarzenegger. He has become the icon that represented steroid use in the past - and a reason why aspiring bodybuilders look towards it today. Of course, many are aware of the harmful side effects that can come with consistent and numerous uses, so many are searching for alternatives that do not contain the same (or any) side effects. In a world of disinformation and wanting to achieve rapid gains, it can be difficult to ascertain what is good and what can be detrimental to your health.

In this post, we will first aim to define what steroids are and what they do. We will take a look at a popular purported steroid alternative, and also, review the lives of two vegan bodybuilders and their routine for sustainable gains. Finally, we'll take a look at some of the best natural alternatives to steroid use.

What Are Steroids?

Steroids are the name given to certain man-made medicinal substances that mimic hormones throughout the body, mainly developed for the therapeutic use of certain ailing conditions. Corticosteroids, for example, are only used for medicinal purposes and help to relieve certain symptoms. For example, the hormone cortisol is associated with the prolonged stress resulting in your body, forcing you to stay awake and deal with tough situations. This same hormone can be applied to things such as acne within an ointment, causing hormonally imbalanced skin to revert to its natural state.

Other popular corticosteroids help to improve weakened systems as a result of degenerative or stagnating conditions, such as asthma and severe allergies. Epi-pens contain Epinephrine, which causes your circulator system to reset and give a powerful shock when it is in a panicked or overwhelmed state. This causes someone to catch their breath and fight the attack.

While these are helpful, steroids often referred to as anabolic steroids, which mimic the hormone testosterone, are widely popular within the fitness community. Just like corticosteroids, they help weaken conditions that relate to sexual or muscle-related degenerative diseases: cancer, AIDS, HIV, dystrophy, and coma. Because of their profound effects on muscle development, an otherwise healthy person could take these and drastically increase their muscle mass with proper diet and exercise. This comes with many side effects that could occur with increased testosterone, such as "roid" rage, changing prostate size, infertility, and heart disease.

5 Alpha Hydroxy Laxogenin

Now that we understand how anabolic steroids can help (and harm) the body, we can review 5 Alpha Hydroxy Laxogenin (Laxogenin). This substance is commonly found in plants and sold as a supplement on the market. Although it helps in plant growth with a substance that mimics androgenic qualities (like anabolic steroids and testosterone), the benefits it claims to have are not supported by any scientific study.

Most of the early research was conducted by the soviet union and lauded as a great "muscle enhancer" due to its unique properties in inhibiting cortisol. Since cortisol is a stress hormone inside the body, leaping conclusions are made that with a reduced cortisol level, your muscles have more resources available to develop. It is also touted as helping with protein synthesis and is conducive to a larger mass. More research and studies need to be done to draw more meaningful conclusions.

Nimai Delgado Steroids Stance?

Nimai del Gado is a world champion IFBB competitor. Unique to his lifestyle is that he has never once eatenNimai Delgado a bite of meat in his entire life. Raised as a vegetarian by his Hindu-practicing parents, Nimai followed that lifestyle until eventually turning vegan a few years ago. He has become an icon, appearing on many podcasts - mainly to refute the claim that bodybuilding can only occur and be successful on a diet that is rich in animal proteins and animal-derived products. Because of his all-natural diet that focuses on healing and veganism, he is also extremely against the use of other foreign substances, such as anabolic steroids.

Torre Washington Steroids Stance?

Torre Washington is another vegan bodybuilder that is up and coming in the community, known for his love of Arnold Schwarzenegger. His impressive size has earned him a four-time winner on the bodybuilding podium and has garnered a lot of attention: both positive and negative. His love of Arnold Schwarzenegger and his size has brought many doubters, calling him "fake" and saying that he eats animal meat and cycles anabolic steroids due to his size. Torre mentions that, although more slowly, his vegan diet has afforded him a bigger size by attentively watching what he eats and being more strict with the quality of food. He also does not have a negative stance on anabolic steroids per see, but has declared that he does not use them himself.

Top 3 Best Natural Steroids

Creatine: creatine is an all-natural substance that is found within the body, and can be taken as a supplement. It increases muscle energy and development without added androgenic qualities.

Ashwagandha:  A popular eastern medicine, Ashwagandha root has been used for hundreds of years to increase testosterone production in men.

SARMs: Relatively new on the market, selective androgenic reception modulators bind to your androgenic receptors, promoting muscle growth without the need for additional hormone introduction into the body. Find them at PureRawz for approved research purposes only.

Can steroids cause high blood pressure?

Anabolic steroids increase testosterone levels, which also increases blood flow to the muscles and other parts of your circulatory system. Because of this, they can increase blood pressure in certain individuals that are at high risk or with prolonged use.

Are sarms safe?

SARMs are not FDA approved and further research is needed. They are marketed as a natural alternative to steroids but have not undergone extensive human testing yet. They are unable to be used for retail or veterinary purposes as of yet.

Can I take steroids and antibiotics together?

Depending on the steroid, this may be possible. Antibiotics help to fight bacterial infection, while steroids help balance hormone inconsistencies. This means that they may not interact. However, a particular hormone could affect bacterial reproduction or weakening of the system - making this combination dangerous. It is best to consult your healthcare professional.
